OK. It's late and I must be brief... Here goes.

1. Rainbowlicious is done, but Flash is being stupid and it won't let me save... (It's a HUGE file. The biggest I've ever made.) I will have to export it in segments and piece it together in en external video editing program... It will be at least another day before I can release it. I'm sorry... [link]

2. I have been in contact with William Anderson recently and have had the opportunity to work with him on something pretty cool! I'll give you more details on that later once I have his permission to disclose.

3. The Electric Brigade audition went well, but the Academy Band has really high standards and most of the guys who work there have degrees in music. Also, advancement for MU's is really bad right now with all the military's downsizing, so It is very difficult for the Navy to promote someone just ONE rank, much less two... Needless to say...
I got the gig...
Eeyup! I made it! I got the job! Auto 1st Class Petty Officer baby!
I should be out there in Annapolis sometime early next year! That means a LOT more time to work on ponies. Plus, I FINALLY get a chance to go to Bronycon!!!

So here's the low down:

The audition went well...
Really well...
So well in fact that even though they haven't come out with the results yet, they told me... Well, I'm not aloud to say until they do come out with the results...

Assuming I did make it though, as soon as the E-6 hiring freeze lifts I will be moving out to Anapolise Maryland and will be promoted two ranks!
I will also be stationed with my brother Nathanael (BAASIK) who is a 2nd Class at the Naval Academy. Thus we will be able to write tons of new songs, like this one: [link]
Not to mention I will finally be able to go to BRONYCON!!
Yeah... I hope I made it...

In other news, and this is somewhat important so I will be putting it in bold letters for those of you who just skim over journal posts like I do... I AM CURRENTLY IN THE USA AND WANNA MEET ANOTHER FREAKING BRONY GOSH DERN IT!!
I'm in Madison Alabama to be exact, and will be here untill the 8th of august. I will also be at the Six Flags in Georgia this Monday, and will be traveling to Atlanta on the 2nd and 3rd of August to see the aquarium with my family if any of y'all are out that way... (Spread the word! Help a brony out! )

One last thing; I have had some luck recently and am pleased to announce that; (and here's the bold text again) Rainbowlicious is on its way!!
I hope to have it out to you guys by the end of next week, but don't expect it to be a typical "licious" video... Rainbow Dash is pretty rebellious...

Well guys, I'm off!
In less then Twenty Four hours I will be on a 777 en-rout to The Land of the Free and the Home of the Grape! (Or something like that...)

In case you didn't know, I am flying out on the Navy's dime to audition for the Electric Brigade's lead vocalist position at the US Naval Academy.
If I make, it I will be promoted two pay-grades, and live right next to my brother who is a USNA midshipmen! (Not to mention I will live in the states again, so I can FINALLY go to BronyCon!!! )


Anyhoo, Like I said I am re-writing "Proud to be a Brony" for the documentary. I was going to do a electro/dubstep remix using my Kaossilator Pro that caredwyn so generously gave me, but then I had this crazy idea...

OK, so let me start of by saying thank you, to ALL of you for being so patient while I was on Deployment! I flew back from the Philippines two days ago and just got situated in my apartment!

So what's the "WHAT" for? Well, yesterday I went back to get my mail. There was a lot of it! Not just letters but PACKAGES too, that I never recall ordering... One such package was a pretty large box, wrapped in Blue and Gold with a note attached that read:

The contents... Blew... My... Mind....

Y'all know about that brony documentery coming up? The one we raised over $348,000 for? The one spearheaded by John De-Lancie, Tara Strong, and Lauren Faust themselves?
Well, while I don't know if I will be in it yet, (probably not) I was contacted directly by one of the producers and asked if I wouldn't mind having my song "Proud to be a Brony" featured in the documentery!!
Of course I said; "NO WAY IT'S ALL MINE YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!!"
LOL! I keed, I keed!...
I told them I would be honored! That said, I will be remixing it a bit... Just a bit. Namely, there are a few things I wanna change about the vocals... (It was recorded a long time ago, in a barracks room full of people trying to sleep... ) I have my own appartment now, so nothing can impeed me from SHOUTING IT OUT FOR ALL WORLD TO HEAR!!!

Before I go, a few updates:
- Pinkaliscious is on it's way! I am nearly finished with the animation and am waiting only on my Voice Actress. I should have it out to you by this weekend! (I'm excited about this one! I love Pinkie Pie! )
- I am kinda looking for a good Rainbow Dash sound alike (other than Erica from Epic Cupcake Time) so if you can do it, shoot me a note or something!
- I will be taking leave in Madison Alabama from July 24th to August 6th and would love to meet another brony face to face... Just saying...

Well guys, It has been a pretty crazy but fruitful month! So far I have been to Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, and Thailand. (Where I am currently writing this note.) I have some pictures here: [link] if you are interested...

But There is another reason I am writing this... Y'all remember my brother Nathanael? Goes by BAASIK online, he helped me write Proud To Be A Brony and PIRL. He also almost exclusively wrote BR34CH (Owed to your 80's) and DashStep (with me providing only a few vocal samples and compilation assistance.)
Anyway, he has recently entered a competition; (the Calvin Harris Pepsi Remix competition to be exact,) which requires contestants to write a remix of the Calvin Harris song "Let's Go" good enough to be played in a club, etc... The winner gets to go to Ibiza and open for Calvin Harris! Obviously, he really wants this! I have told him about the general amazingness of the Brony community before, but he, like so many others, still has his doubts. Honestly, he still thinks I'm weird for being one. This doesn't hurt my feelings as I have embraced my weirdness as a blessing, a freedom from the curse of normality, but he still has trouble with it... Anyhoo, I'm sure you guessed where I'm going with this... It would mean a lot to him, but also to me if you'd check him out and consider voting for him! I'd love to show my brother what the herd can do!
He has made this remix using samples exclusively from "Let's Go" (the song he remixed.) He added no other sounds!

Well guys, once again, I thank you for being awesome, and I leave you with yet another cheesy sentiment:
Be proud of who you are! Be proud of who you have decided to be! Dwell upon your accomplishments, and not on upon your short comings. You will never be able to please everybody, but that is no more your fault than it is your problem! Don't let others tell you who you are, or define what you want to be! Besides, If we required other people to discover ourselves, then we wouldn't be ourselves, now would we?
Regardless of how weird people may think we are, our impact upon the world is becoming more and more visible, and that is certainly not a bad thing!!

Well guys, this is it... In a few hours, I leave for this years three month deployment...

For those of you that don't know, I am in the US Navy, and every year around summertime, my command deploys on a +/-three month tour of duty called CARAT. (Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training) During which we train with multiple countries militaries in the eastern hemisphere.
This year, I will get to visit Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, the Philippines, and a few others whose names escape me at the moment... (For those of you may be interested, I often post photos of my CARAT shenanigans in my "This is my Life" gallery folder! )

While I am excited as always, I am also pretty bummed, because I will most likely not have time to complete any more animations, songs, or vectors until I get back...

I will, of course, resume animating the moment I return! In the meantime though, I'd like to leave you with some cheesy sentiments:

You Bronies are some of the nicest people I have ever met!! You are kind, excepting, loving, and forgiving in a world full of bitter, hateful, and sad people. You love and tolerate where most would hate, and criticize. Because of this, many will mock and tease you. Though their scathing remarks make it pretty easy to lash out, please don't hate them in return! This only feeds the fire! If anything, feel sorry for them. They are merely attacking what they don't understand because it makes them uncomfortable... Be thankful that you are secure enough in who you are to be yourself, regardless of what other people think! Many lesser men/women envy you, though they may never have the courage to tell you so. Stay strong Bronies; the world needs you!

OK... So you may have read that about a week ago, I requested permission from Hasbro (and subsequently, SAG) to hire Tara Strong to voice her own character, Twilight Sparkle, in a fan made animated short for the Bronies, right?
And even though Tara herself was all for it, (her exact words regarding the script were: "Wow!! That's so fun!!" ) Hasbro still said "NO NO!! BAD BLACKGRYPH0N!! TWILIGHT SPARKLE MINE AND NOBODY ELSESES!! " in a nut shell, right?

Well... I thought about it...
For a long time...
And I decided...

What the hay! I'mma do it anyway!

Thanks to help from some VIB's (Very Important Bronies) I will be able to do this project after all! Even if it's not exactly how I planned it... (Truth be told... It will be a bit longer than originally planed... )
So yeah! As of now, my new Twilight Sparkle animation is underway! I even have a screen-cap for y'all! [link]

That said, it may be a while before you see/hear from me again until I get this animation up... Not that it's super super complicated or anything, it's just that, during this animation process, I will be juggling a Navy Ball performance, recuperation form a tour in the Philippines, and a week long tour in Guam. So I am pretty busy...

So that's what's going on. I'm sorry if I don't get back to you during this time. I will do my best to check my messages daily, but I may not have time to respond to everything... Still, know that I love you guys and consider you family!!

I am in the Philippines right now on tour with America in 3D, but that's beside the point. As you may know, I was waiting on word from Hasbro regarding permission to hire Tara Strong to voice Twilight Sparkle in a short animation. Tara said she'd love to do it, but we had to get permission first. This morning I woke up to this unfortunate message from Hasbro in my inbox:

Dear Gabriel:

Thank you for your recent correspondence wherein you requested Hasbro, Inc.'s permission to use the above-referenced My Little Pony property in conjunction with a short animated video you would like to create.

I have reviewed your request with the appropriate people within Hasbro and regret to advise you that Hasbro cannot grant you permission to refer to or use the above-referenced property or any of its distinctive elements which are trademarks of Hasbro, in the manner you request.  

We receive a large number of requests to use our brands in many different ways.  Unfortunately, in order to protect our intellectual property, such as copyrights and trademarks, we are simply unable to grant the vast majority of requests.

Though I am disappointed, Frankly, I'm not surprised. I told Tara and she wasn't surprised either, so that's the end of that... *sigh*

Well, the title says it!

Turns out, Tara Strong has seen my animation! And when I asked her on twitter if I could commission her to voice her character, Twilight Sparkle, in a fan animation similar to my "Message from Vinyl Scratch." She got right back to me!

So why the question mark in the title then? Well, here are two of the direct messages she sent me:

"Wow!! That's so fun!! I'm not allowed to do anything without permission like that, anything without SAG& I could actually b in big trouble."
"Still I'll ask! That would be totally fun!"

So yeah, I know odds are against me, but if this works out... Dang... Because Tara is right; this idea... The animation. Bronies will FREAK OUT!!

Oh yeah, She also followed me on twitter and is continuing to converse with me as I write this!! She is really an awesome person, and even if this doesn't go anywhere, I am thrilled to have had that experience!

Anyhoo, there is also a little bit of animation in there that I was inspired to make after some of the comments I received on "She's Just Being Pinkie Pie" Lot's of people were saying they would be really excited if Pinkie Pie popped out of their computer monitor! I got to thinking, and, to be honest, that would scare the crap out of me!
(Though I'm sure I'd get over it soon enough, and then... PARTY TIME!!!! )

I looked for the track online, but nopony else that I can find has posted it!!
So I thought I'd try and find the master track and separate it myself.

My brother (Nate Brown) has been producing electronic music under the name "Baasik" for around three months now, and he recently decided to try his hand at Dubstep. He is not a brony, in fact, he rather seems to resent the fact that I am... I offered him a little exposure in exchange for a little dignity, thus, this pony riddled dub was born: DashStep
A collaboration between a Brony and a Gilda. Love and tolerate bronies... Love, tolerate, and if possible, collaborate! :-P
