What IS Integrity? My Segeant (SGT) asked me to write an essay on what Integrity meant to me. Not as punishment, but as a request (weird...>.>). I started thinking, what is the definition of integrity? What does it mean to me? What does it mean to others, and how does it effect the world around me and in the Army? This is what integrity means to me: Integrity is not only one of the Army’s seven values but one of mine as well. But what is integrity? Why is it important not only in the Army, but from man to man, Private to SGT, and to me as well. Integrity: The adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. In other words, it means being trustworthy, reliable and having high moral principles. Integrity to me does not mean being perfect, but rather having the capability of being trusted in my actions as well as my words.
