Ok, I know this is not the best Image, but I wanted to focus more on the principle than the photograph. In this image, you can see the origin of the plasma streamer is not the Coils Toroid rim, but insted the tip of my finger! Much like the return stroke of a lightning bolt! What this means is that, rather than leaping from the Coil to the air, the lightning streamers generated by the Tesla Coil are actually coming from the surrounding atmosphere! Like an electron vacuum! The streams are ionised plasma channels through which the electrons travel, like luminary highways! They are very high frequency, so it is impossible to be electrocuted by them! This is the second of three that I built. It is a Solid State Tesla Coil, but it is not Direct Rate like the larger one in my last picture...
