This image is based heavily off of an adorable sketch by my friend Everypony check out his stuff because he is I know it's a bit late, but I simply had to do this! Thanks again MickeyMonster! You rock dude!
I wanted to do a background so badly, but I simply didn't have time... Ah well... Maybe l8r... LOL!! I used text talk! I'm clever!!
I love this! Fluttershy is so beautiful, even glamorous here, as she gracefully thanks the little bunny for that wonderful gift. Angel feigning petulance is really adorable too, especially since the blush and sweat drops give his true feelings away. She knows it anyway, even without all of the bunny prints on the card.
Mighty fine work on their bodies, good foreshortening and nice belly and especially the face on Angel. Poses get an A+, with pony ears down for the win. I like that you're experimenting with different shadings and gradients to bring out depth, like Fluttershy's closed eyes and the highlights on her forelegs and ears (plus MnT).
I hope your St. Valentine's Day was at least this sweet.
Thank you sooooo much! I must say I am quite happy about how this one turned out! My biggest concern was her eyes. I wanted to make her face appear soft, almost dreamy, and it wasn't really working. I ended up darkening her eyelids and adding a very mild glow to them which overlapped her eyelashes a bit. I actually got the idea from the romantic scenes in "The Sound of Music" which where shot with a blurry blue filter to soften up the scene.
I really wanted to do a back-lit, silhouetted background with this so that the heart-completing shadow made more sense in its location, but I ran out of time... Still, I kinda like it eh way it is now, sometimes simple is better, not every picture has to be a huge production!
This is the second image in which I attempted to use softer, warmer shading. The first was actually a vixel based off of the fanfic "My Little Dashie." [link] This was also my first pic to break 2,000faves in one day! I was stoked!
Thanks again for a great, thoughtfull comment! Honestly, they are the highlight of my day!
